Feng Shui and Health

Our health is the most important asset we have. Although Feng Shui is not a miracle cure for all that ails you it can optimize our environments so we are less likely to fall ill. In addition, it can help put us in better surroundings (whether it is our home, working quarters or temporary living environment) so treatments for illnesses are more expedient and effective. Good Feng Shui can help with anything from seasonal allergies to infertility to asbestos cancer. Feng Shui should never be used in lieu of medical treatment however it can be part of the treatment process.

In Feng Shui there are many different tools that one can use to help with health issues. One can use Flying Stars, 8 Mansions, Qi Men Dun Jia, Xuan Kong Da Gua or Form School to help with recovery from illnesses or to avoid them. Since Forms is the most fundamental of all Feng Shui practices it is important that we have good Forms or other more “advanced” techniques will not be as effective. Forms is also the easiest for people new to Feng Shui to implement because it does not require complicated calculations or charts. With more training one can fine tune using Xuan Kong Da Gua, 8 Mansions or many other techniques to deal with specific ailments.

With over 40 years of experience and observation Peter has been able to find patterns that were previously unknown. The one that is the most amazing and has the most impact is the discovery of the “Toilet Sha”. When Feng Shui was first used the toilet was outside the home. In modern homes however the toilet has moved inside the living environment and affects our day-to-day lives, most notably our health.

The “Toilet Sha” is a straight line that runs through through the back and front of the toilet and through walls. Imagine sitting on the toilet, draw two lines the width of the toilet (normally 21 inches for standard American toilets), through the walls in front and behind your sitting position. If this line dissects your bed or any area you spend a good deal of time it can cause health issues. For example, if this line dissects your bed roughly where your midsection is you could be prone to digestive problems; if this line dissects your knees you could be prone to joint issues. If you find that you are affected by the “Toilet Sha” it would be advisable to move the bed or chair that is being affected by the toilet.

Annual energies are also very potent and should be dealt with each year. This is based on the annual Flying Star chart. To protect our health we must address the Annual 5 Yellow and the San Sha. Before the beginning of each year Peter writes his annual preview and includes remedies for these areas in the article. For this year's article click here. Most of the cures listed are easily found in a normal house or can be purchased without great expense. For all the cures, be sure to check on them throughout the year to make sure they do not need to be changed or refilled. If possible try not to spend too much time in the 5 Yellow sector or the San Sha sector. Each year the energies shift and the area they affect will change and will have to be dealt with accordingly.

If you have more serious problems contact a good Feng Shui practitioner who will be able to implement other remedies based on your specific home and your specific issues. With good Feng Shui we can all live in more sound environments!
